If you've never hired a video editor before, this is the short version. ClipCraft is a $500/month flat-rate editing studio for small businesses — three short-form edits a week, 24–72 hour turnaround, no contracts, no setup fees. First edit is on us. These are the questions we hear most often from owners deciding whether it's a fit.
1. What's included in the short-form package?
Three vertical short-form edits per week — 9:16, captioned, and ready to post on TikTok, Reels, and Shorts. Each edit includes motion graphics, sound design, and burned-in captions. Pricing tiers: Solo $500/mo (3 edits/week, one revision round), Growth $1,000/mo (4 edits/week, two revision rounds), Pro $1,500/mo (6 edits/week, two revision rounds + dedicated editor). Full breakdown on the pricing section.
2. How fast will I get my edit back, and how many revisions do I get?
24–72 hours from the moment you submit a clip through the client portal — most edits ship in under 48 hours on Solo. Solo plans include one revision round per edit; Growth and Pro include two revision rounds per edit. We define a revision as a small tweak — swap a caption, tighten a cut, change a music beat. A new direction (different concept, different angle, different story) counts as a new edit, not a revision, so the studio and your monthly allotment stay predictable.
3. Why is flat-rate better than paying by the hour?
Hourly billing from agencies like inBeat-style creator shops at $150–250/hr means every revision is a fresh invoice and the final bill is a surprise. LYFE Marketing quotes $1,350+/mo with a 3-month minimum — a $4,000+ commitment before you've seen a finished cut. Feedbird flips the cost onto your time with a DIY template tool. ClipCraft's flat rate removes all three problems: predictable monthly cost, no per-project quotes, no scope creep. You send the clips, you get the edits, you post them.
4. What file formats and deliverables will I receive?
Every edit is delivered as an MP4 in vertical 9:16 (1080×1920) — drop-in ready for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts. Captions are burned in (no SRT or sidecar files to manage). Files arrive as a download link through your client portal. Raw project files and Premiere/FCP source timelines are not included in the standard tiers — you're paying for finished, edited video, not a working file to revise yourself.
5. How do I brief the team — what do I need to send?
Submit everything through the /client portal. Three things are useful: raw footage (phone video is fine — most of our clients shoot on iPhones), any caption text or talking points you want featured in the captions, and a vibe for the music and energy (energetic, calm, playful, professional — pick one or two words). No shot list is required for your first edit — send us a 3–5 minute raw clip and we'll cut a 30-second teaser so you can see the work before committing to a full plan.
6. Is there a contract? What if I want to cancel?
No contract. Month-to-month. Cancel anytime before your next billing cycle — no setup fees, no cancellation fee, no drip reminders. Your plan stays active through the current paid month, and you can pause or walk away at the start of any new cycle. You retain full rights to every finished edit we produce for you, regardless of whether you stay on the plan.
7. How do you handle my footage and client data?
Your raw footage is used only to produce your deliverables — it is not shared, republished, or repurposed for marketing without your written permission. Edits-in-progress and finished files live in the client portal, accessible only to your assigned editor and you. If you cancel, we retain your finished edits for 30 days in case you need a re-download, then delete the source files.
